Assessment & Bodywork

Sessions begin with assessment of your movement patterns. Manual fascial release and correction, and adjustment movements are then used to organize the body and prepare it for larger and stronger movement exercises.

Pilates

The use of Pilates machines (reformer, cadillac and wunda chair) will usually follow to bring awareness to breath and strengthen and lengthen the pelvic floor and other core muscles. The machine exercises taught are specifically chosen and sequenced for your body’s needs based on assessment and bodywork. Exercises will aim to maintain alignment and challenge you.

Yoga

Sessions will intermittently sprinkle or end with yoga sequences. Without the use of springs from the Pilates machines, your body will be asked to move through yoga asanas using body weight to mindfully flow. Yoga is used to reinforce and challenge your body’s new found patterns to maintain mobility and strength both inside and outside of the studio.

Meet Kinh O’Brien

To observe my students moving to their fullest potential brings me joy. My talent is my ability to see and understand your body’s patterns to then guide you through exercises to realize and adopt new patterns. I will challenge your preconceptions of strength and stability, and create long lasting results. For over a decade I’ve studied (and continue to study) with some of the best movement therapists in the world. I’m a dedicated student and teacher. This my life’s passion and I am grateful and humbled to share it with you.

“Kinh has an incredibly advanced and intuitive understanding of the body, and a keen eye to see the strength and weakness in your body”
