Continue your progress outside of the studio.
Below are a list of exercises, asanas and sequences that I have put together for your reference outside of the studio. While I encourage you to try everything, after our session(s) at the studio I would have recommended specific exercises for you to do at home. If you have any questions I welcome you to contact me.
Hip Maintenance
Maintain the health of your hips. This video begins with Madeline Black Method and Pilates to bring awareness, organize and load the pelvis and hip muscles. The practice ends with a flow of yoga asanas to further load, strengthen and stretch. (Length: 1 hour and 4 minutes)
Props used:
2 pinky/tennis balls
One yoga block
One squishy 7” ball
Quick Mama Maintenance
A safe workout for post-partum mothers and those (even if after several years later) looking to recoup their bodies from pregnancy and holding/nursing baby. This workout is also safe for those who have diastasis. We focus on finding the breath to engage the core and pelvic floor, and opening the shoulder girdle and upper thoracic spine. (Length: 26 minutes)
Props used:
Long roller
Yoga block (or rolled up into a “burrito” towel)
Theraband (or towel w/some stretch)
Squishy 7” ball (or rolled up into a “burrito” towel)
Post-Cardio Rituals
10 minutes of post-cardio standing asana flow that you can do after your hike, run or bike ride. The goal is to capitalize on your increased heart rate and already-mobilized joints and muscles to flow through a short sequence to stretch and lengthen the body. No props needed. (Length: 12 minutes)
Pilates + Yoga Flow
(video coming soon!) Flow through a challenging Pilates mat and Yoga flow. This workout is intelligently sequenced to safely take you through challenging exercises and asanas.
Foot Maintenance
(video coming soon!) Feet are the foundation of it all. A short video to maintain foot health and get you going on about the rest of your workout and day.
Computer desk stretches
(video coming soon!) Stuck at your desk for 8-10 hours a day? I remember the feeling…. This short video is a compilation of several optional stretches you can do at your computer desk to keep you healthy and productive during your work day.
